Dr. Erica Sarr

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience in treating sexuality related disorders as well as general mental health concerns. I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor, a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist and supervisor, and Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist in the area of video game and technology addiction through IITAP. I am also board certified in biofeedback through BCIA.

Treatment Philosophy

I believe that seeking help is one of the most courageous acts one can do and that seeking therapy is a tremendous act of self-love. I am filled with humility and honored every time someone chooses to take that risk with me. I consider it of utmost importance that we build a relationship of safety, honesty, and respect. I want our time together to be a safe place for you to be authentic about what you want, what you fear, and what you need.
I also know that therapy is an investment- of time, money, and energy. Clients who work with me can expect to work hard, as I want you to reap the full benefits of that investment. For example, many clients who seek my services struggle with boundaries in everyday life. I see boundaries as an integral part of our work together and see boundaries themselves as indicative of caring. Learning boundaries together is a stepstone to better boundaries with others. This is just one example of how we can use our therapeutic relationship to affect change in your life.
Lastly, I have a philosophical commitment to health and joy. So many of the messages we receive about sexuality, intimacy, and relationships are laced with judgement, pain and shame. My goal in working with clients around their sexuality is not that I have the recipe for the “right” kind of sexual life for them, but rather that I can help them discover and become aligned with their own values in every aspect of their life.
